Hi! I’m Marta Soszynska, a Poland-born documentary filmmaker and producer with years of diverse experience spanning the globe.
I’ve spent the last decade combining my passion for journalism with a humane storytelling approach that can affect change. Consequently, my work tackles issues concerned with gender, inequality and sustainability in times of crisis.I worked in conflict zones for a number of humanitarian organizations, including Médecins sans Frontières (MSF). I documented humanitarian impacts of crises such as the war in Ukraine, civil war in the Central African Republic, migrant rescues on the Mediterranean Sea, gang’s violence in Colombia and Venezuela, among others. In 2020, shortly after the Covid-19 pandemic paralyzed the world, I joined the World Health Organization (WHO) where I‘ve been spearheading the documentation of COVID-19 response efforts. I have since produced hundreds of short films about the pandemic, and other global health issues.I also worked as a video journalist, directing multimedia and documentary productions for media in Europe and South-East Asia and producing visual campaigns for grass-root organizations in Europe. I am fluent in French, Spanish, English and Polish. I’m a one woman band – comfortable working as a solo cameraperson, a writer, editor and producer, but I most enjoy working in a team. So drop me a message if you’d like to work together!Awards: 2019 Joan Gomis journalism award for a multimedia documentary for RTVE "Congo: la guerra sin fin”
